By no means something you see every day: a poinsettia with a warm woollen collar! Here it’s worth taking a second look at the details: thick red balls of wool are stuffed into red glazed pots. In the centre of these there are orchid tubes with a poinsettia sprig in a subtle cream colour. To make this, cut the sprig of poinsettia from the plant and immediately hold the stem end briefly over a candle flame. This increases the durability of the sprig and at the same time prevents the latex from escaping.
